Letter #101 "Well, let's beat Satan!" - Mazate Las Flores, Guatemala

hey

so this was a pretty good week.  the highlight was the baptism of sandra.  she is the friend of some members here and she has been going to seminary with them for about a year. and in all of that no missionary has ever taught her. crazy!! we found out about this because we went to eat lunch with the family of her friends and when we finished we just asked if they knew anyone we could teach and they told us about sandra and now she is a member of the church!! so yeah, ¨ask and ye shall receive¨ haha

well besides that it was just another great long week of work. and not that much sleep. for example one night there were some hermanas in the zone that were sick and our president asked us to go with them to the hospital and we were there til almost midnight (remember we usually are alseep by 10 or 10:30) so that was killer, but that is what just what we are here to do!

well this week i really liked a scripture that i read in Alma 16. as a missionary there are chapters that you study really well because they are so applicable and then they become very familiar, many of those chapters are in Alma, but 16 isnt really one of them, or so i thought.  when i read this chapter a few days ago i was blown away by the power there.  but what i loved most of all was this

21 And now after the church had been established throughout all the land—having got the victory over the devil, and the word of God being preached in its purity in all the land, and the Lord pouring out his blessings upon the people—thus ended the fourteenth year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi.

isnt that awesome?!?! if we preach the gospel and established the church we have got the victory over the devil.  there is so much bad going on in the world but if we preach and share what we know we have the victory.

well let's beat satan and share what we know with everyone!!  have a great week

love
